Driving Sustainability with Renewable Energy: Green Initiatives
Sustainability is at the heart of our operations. Our commitment to renewable energy reflects our dedication to reducing environmental impact and embracing clean energy solutions. Here’s how we’ve made a difference so far:
1. Solar Panels – 110 KWH Project (2021)
- Successfully installed in 2021.
- Saved 98 MWh of energy till FY-2024.
- Reduced carbon emissions by approximately 413 metric tons of CO₂.
2. Solar Panels – 448 KWH Project (2022)
- Operational since 2022.
- Saved 1,181.1 MWh of energy till FY-2024.
- Reduced carbon emissions by approximately 794 metric tons of CO₂.
3. Mega Solar Project – 4.08 MW (July 2023-2024)
- Recently installed and operational from July 2023.
- Saved 8,723.8 MWh of energy till FY-2024.
- Reduced carbon emissions by approximately 5,861 metric tons of CO₂.
Real-Time Monitoring
- Total Renewable Energy Generated from Solar (as of 10-Nov-2024): 10,519.88 MWh.
- Total CO₂ Emissions Avoided: 7,068 metric tons.
4. Mega Solar Project – 11.45 MW 2025-2026
- Total Megawatt of all units 11.45MW from end of 2025
- Total Renewable Energy Generated from Solar estimated 15.4 – 16.5 Million kWh.
- Reduced carbon emissions by approximately 9,500 metric tons of CO₂.
Invested around $5 Million in renewable energy, combining solar power and wind turbines to promote sustainability. Wind turbine Project with a total installed capacity of 7.5 MW, is under installation for the generation of renewable energy. This initiative will reduce our carbon footprint, increase energy efficiency and support long term growth ensuring a cleaner more sustainable future for our operations.

Pioneering Water Sustainability: Commitment to Water Stewardship.
1. Effluent Treatment & Reverse Osmosis Process
Since November 2019, we have operated an advanced water recycling system that processes wastewater through an Effluent Treatment Plant, followed by Double-Stage Reverse Osmosis (RO) to recover clean water. After 2024 we grown up this project by three ETP system.
- Water Recovery Efficiency: Up to 85% of treated water is reclaimed.
- Annual Impact: Approximately 60 million gallons of water are recycled every year.
- 2024 Monthly Average: Recycled approximately 2,556,662 gallons of water through an Effluent Treatment Plant, equivalent to 40% of the total water used in production.
- 2025 Monthly Average: Recycled approximately 25,500,000 gallons of water through three Effluent Treatment Plants.
- 2026 Monthly Average: Recycling, approximately 25,500,000 gallons of water is reporting in this current year.
2. Water Conservation Through Other Initiatives
- MCS (Mechanical Condensate System): Contributing an additional 116 million gallons of water saved per year.
- CRU (Condensate Recovery Unit): Saving approximately 5 million gallons of water annually.

Transforming Waste into Value: Recycled Cotton Initiatives
At Al Karam Towel Industries (Pvt.) Ltd., we believe in turning waste into opportunity. Our commitment to sustainability extends to recycling hard waste from multiple production sources and converting it into high-value recycled cotton fiber. This initiative not only minimizes resource depletion but also aligns with our waste reduction strategy.
Recycled Cotton: A Sustainable Innovation
Since 2021, we have been operating a state-of-the-art Fiber Waste Recycling Plant, reclaiming production waste and transforming it into recycled fiber that meets Global Recycled Standard (GRS) requirements. Our process ensures the production of high-quality recycled yarns, which are ideal for manufacturing premium textile products.
Process Overview:
- Waste Collection: Hard waste is gathered from multiple sources, including:
- Spinning waste
- Weaving waste
- Stitching waste
- Cutting Machine: The waste is processed through cutting machines to prepare it for recycling.
- Recycling Plant: The processed waste is converted into recycled fiber using advanced recycling technology.
- Bale Press: The recycled fiber is compressed into bales for efficient storage and transportation.

- Resource Conservation: Reduces the need for virgin cotton, contributing to the preservation of natural resources.

Waste to Energy: Biomass Fuel Initiative
Al Karam Towel Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. is proud to pioneer sustainable energy solutions with the introduction of a Biomass Fuel-Based Boiler, replacing conventional gas burner boilers. This innovative project underscores our commitment to environmental responsibility and resource optimization by transforming organic waste into green energy.
Biomass-based power generation is currently in operation with a cumulative capacity of 20 TPH. This system includes three biomass facilities that produce steam using rice husk, cow dung, food waste, and poultry manure. The initiative supports renewable energy use across our operations, reduces reliance on fossil fuels and reinforces our commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
What is Biomass?
Biomass is derived from organic waste, such as crop residues and animal waste, which would otherwise be dumped in landfills, causing environmental harm. By repurposing this waste as a sustainable fuel source, biomass serves as an eco-friendly alternative to methane gas for boiler operations, producing green energy in the form of steam.

- Operational Since: August 2024
- Sustainability Impact: It helps mitigate climate change by utilizing organic waste.
- CO₂ Reduction: Approximately 6,381 tons per year.
- Environmental Benefit Equivalent: 105,510 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
